Merlot Red Wine from the Red Series 2016
This wine was produced from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from vineyards in the Upper Galilee and the northern Golan Heights.
Its color is deep burgundy with purple edges, aromas of black fruits wrapped in toasted wood and dark chocolate, its taste is full and balanced with pleasant notes and a long, fascinating finish.
The wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.Bahat Winery is a family boutique winery located in Kibbutz Ein Zivan in the northern Golan Heights.
Ofer Bahat, an expert in fruit preservation and refrigeration, has dreamed for decades of producing his own wine.He embarked on his first winemaking adventure using the simplest means, in a warehouse near his house, with barrels, buckets, and equipment borrowed from friends.
The source of the grapes he used was fine – grapes from the northern Golan Heights, which grow at an altitude of 1000 meters, and are known for their quality and taste throughout the world.
After extensive experience and learning from the best in the field, Ofer decided to open the winery and visitor center to the general public and share his great love of wine with the public.
Today, the Bahat Winery produces approximately 20,000 bottles each year from grapes harvested in the Quneitra Valley and at the foot of Mount Bental, located in the northern Golan Heights at an altitude of over 1,000 meters above sea level.
